As part of the Eurodesk “Time to Move” campaign, we did a simulation and remembered what it was like to be back at the youth exchange. We offered to plunge into the atmosphere of non-formal education, unforgettable experience and meet new people for 1.5 hours !
We met new partners from the organisation “Smile”, that works in crisis centre with young people with social barriers.
On 19th of September were the Clean Games Baltic Cup.
What is “Clean Games”?
It is a team competition aimed at cleaning up natural areas from garbage and further segregating the waste collected. Young people had an opportunity to participate in an exciting game with prizes being awarded for the most efficient team.
The most fun part of the event is that you will not only compete between teams from your country but also with teams from Russia, Lithuania, Estonia and Denmark.
We organised two meetings, at the first stage, we spoke about what is happening in the world, how much microplastics enter our body every day, and most importantly, how we can help fight the situation. At the second meeting, we used our knowledge in practice ❤
Activities are organized within the framework of the project “Eco citizen”, which is financially supported by the Department of Education, Culture and sports of the Riga City Council.
Events, that we have been part
Our organisation members participated in the “Summer for volunteering” European Solidarity Corps project that gathered 14 young people from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania to volunteer for the local community through a group volunteering project.
The project aims to contribute to the local community development by the joint work of local and foreign volunteers for Narva town and local youth.
Together Apart is a 16 day youth exchange executed online with a mix of youth aged 18-35 from various countries currently social distancing, in quarantine and / or isolation due to COVID19.
Through this YE we aim to create an international community where the involved youth can compare COVID19 related experiences, exchange ideas, motivate and inspire each other, gain observational skills, self reflect, get a sense of travel and form friendships across borders.
We participated in the Think Tank meeting-discussion held in the framework of the project “LJP-Youth Voice Matters”, which is implemented by the Latvian youth Council (Latvijas Jaunatnes padome) in cooperation with the British Council Latvia.
This meeting-discussion was held with the aim:
